So we think our little Elijah may be starting to teeth. He is normally such a great baby that does not really cry too much, loves to get passed around, can get placed in his play place or bouncer and be content.
Well, starting this week, well the last 3 or so days, my son has become Mr. McFussy Fusserson. I am not sure if he definitely is teething but it appears so. He is constantly chewing on his hands and puts any toy he has into his mouth. While eating, he’ll feed for about 5 minutes then starts crying until I put him on the other side, then feeds for another 10 minutes and cries more. I feel bad for my little man. Any time I put him down, he screams, unless of course he has fallen asleep then I can lay him down, but as soon as he wakes, look out. Hopefully this will get better and we will figure out if he is teething for sure. I do not know how much more I can handle of his fussiness. Thank goodness for my husband!

This past weekend Elijah was dedicated at our church. It was a really great. We had to go to the 11 service at church which was kind of late for us, but we made it!
We told both of our families to be at the church at 10:30 and both made it on time! Eli was dressed in the cutest outfit of course. We went through the worship and prayer and finally it was our turn. We went up on stage and Pastor Jamie took our little guy, and of course he did not scream because hes so good, he cuddle right in. We had such a good time and then afterwards went to my parents house for a big bbq with both families. All we can do now is hope to guide Eli in a Godly path and that he will choose the right way.

My jogging stroller came! I took her out for a spin! She rides like a dream and she puts Eli to sleep in no time flat!

My little ball of fun woke up today hot as a baked potato, and more cranky than I’ve ever seen him.
My poor little guy had a fever of 101.5 degrees, so I gave him some Tylenol. A good thing about the tylenol is that he really enjoys the grape taste! For the next 2 hours or so after he ate, he just cried and cried, I even had to call in Dad for reinforcements. A couple of Tylenol doses later he was back down to 99.4, a much happier! He finally smiled at me, I thought he was mad at me for making him go through all that pain. He even started to giggle and laugh, so all in all, not too bad.
I did spoil him today like nobody’s business, letting him sleep on me, holding him as he cried, singing “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” like 10 times. I love my little man :).

Today was Elijah’s 4 month appointment. I am proud of my little guy. He has jumped from the 30th percentile from the 25th. He now weights 14 pounds 4 ounces, and is 24 and a half inches long.
At this time he has rolled over from his belly to his back, 3 times, but not again since, even though he really has tried! I think he has mastered the art of eating his own hand and shoving his fist in his mouth, haha. I filled out one of those developmental survey things and he is doing pretty good I think.
We had to stop at grasping objects on his own. His hair is ever growing and I’ve had to trim the back of his hair so to avoid a mullet. More frequently now he is giggling with stimulus as well as smiling when people talk to him in a funny voice, or even if his mommy or daddy just talk to him :). Elijah enjoys standing on his feet, hes got some strong legs! The worst part of the appointment was the immunizations. Poor Elijah screamed with the reddest face I’ve seen him have yet. It took me about 15 minutes to calm my poor son down after his shots. Since, I have spoiled him! He is too cute!
Currently I am still loving being a stay at home mom. Its the best job in the world! I’ve had some struggles with low back pain, which luckily one of my former coworkers advised me for! That is feeling better except for when I’m holding him for a long period of time, or have him in my wrap. I’m excited because I get my jogger this week! I cannot wait to put that to use! So all and all, things are great. Motherhood is the best! We have Elijah’s dedication this weekend and about 30 family members coming between the church service and party at my parents afterward. I’m ready for baby number two…..well, maybe in another few months!

The thing about cold weather in May is that all those cold weather outfits that I thought Eli would not be able to wear because its getting warm out and they were too big on him, well, he can wear them now! Not that I am at all enjoying this cold weather, but Eli has a bit of an extended wardrobe which is fine by me! Hes so cute. I love my little man.

I went out to the store yesterday and finally got my pedometer. So, the stroller is on the way, and I figured that well I may as well do the whole pedometer thing. I’m feeling pretty encouraged to get on the move. The goal is to get 10,000 steps a day. Now, with the rain thats tough. I went to the mall today and walked around for 40 minutes, did about 5,300 steps. I did not realize how tough it is to get 10,000. Well, I know that if it was nice out and not rainy, then I could stroll through the city and what not and get my 10,000 steps. I’m going to ease into it. So yes, I am now a pedometer girl.
On a different note, Elijah has I guess what is called cradle cap…he has a dry scalp. So one thing they recommend for this is to put baby oil on your baby’s head and then brush it through their hair/scalp. A lot of babies have not as much hair as my little boy, so the baby oil really stays in that hair. I have put the baby oil in his hair 2 times and you can still spike his hair like nobody’s business. He still has some dryness in his scalp. Oh well, its good times. He’s still the coolest guy in the world, with the best hair.

So tonight, May 15th, 2009, my son, Elijah Michael rolled over! I gave him his bath and then afterwards I laid him on his changing table to get him dried off. After that I typically lay him on the floor for his belly time, so thats what I did. He was being pretty cute and nice and naked, such a cute little tush. He was down on his belly and lifted his head up, which hes been doing for the last 2 weeks, and then, he started to push with his arms. Next thing I know hes rocking from side to side, and I thought, “This boy is going to roll over!” I called for Kyle to come upstairs, and while he was working on coming up, Eli was laying on his left side. Finally, he rolled over on to his back! I thought, wow, that was awesome, but lets make sure it was not a fluke, so I put him back on his belly and he rolled over again! He rolled over 3 times total! I’m such a proud mommy right now!
